Beginning January 1st 2018, the certification program audit 10% of applications received to verify adherence to the eligibility requirements. Candidates who are randomly selected for auditing will receive an email notice regarding the auditing requirements.

Candidate Handbook:  The Handbook is a complete overview of the Certification Application process. This outlines the necessary steps, exam requirements, and logistics related to taking the examination. Please review this document carefully before proceeding to the application. Certification Application: Applications can take up to 10 business days to process. The Certification application must be filled completely with personal information, personal information as you’d want it publicized, and payment information.

To submit your application: Complete your form electronically and save copy to your desktop. Submit completed application to Castle Worldwide via email, mail, or fax. Please choose one method of submission. (Email is preferred method)

Verification of Training Form: Eligibility for the exam requires verification of Pilates teacher-training proficiency using as a basis, 450 hours of training on mat and all apparatus minimally to include: Reformer, Trapeze Table, Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, and Magic Circle. (Additional apparatuses invented by Joseph Pilates but not required for eligibility: High Chair, Guillotine Tower, Bean Bag, Finger Corrector, Toe Corrector, Foot Corrector, Pinwheel, Ped-o-Pull, Head Harness, Airplane Board, 2 x 4, Iron Shoe, and more.)

Note: The PMA Pilates Certification Program does not have a list of "approved training schools." All students who have taken a comprehensive training program that meet the minimum hours and apparatus requirements are eligible to apply. 

Complete the Personal Information section of the verification form, sign the release of information attestation, and forward it to your training provider.

  • If you completed your training with a single training provider, forward this form to the provider for signature.
  • If you completed your training by transferring credits from one or more training courses to a final training program which has determined your comprehensive proficiency, forward this form to that final training provider for signature.
  • If you did not complete a formal teacher-training program, but acquired comprehensive training through a mentorship/apprenticeship, an instructor who can verify that your training meets or exceeds that of a 450-hour comprehensive training program can sign the verification form.

Both an application AND a training verification form must be submitted to begin application processing. Failure to submit materials in a timely manner may result in additional fees (see handbook for comprehensive guide).Castle will confirm a candidate’s eligibility and process an application within 10 business days. NOTE: Processing of paper and pencil applications may be delayed until minimum candidate requirements are met and event is confirmed. Once an application is approved, Castle will send you an email with a link to provide payment using Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. Payment by check will result in a 15-day hold on the application process. All check payments must be sent via mail.
