Elizabeth Anderson
Executive Director

Elizabeth joined the Pilates Method Alliance as Executive Director in mid-2007, after a transatlantic move from London where she’d lived for the previous 17 years. Prior to the PMA, Elizabeth worked in the UK Pilates industry for 6 years.  She was the founder of the UK’s Polestar Pilates company, as well as her own Pilates Umbrella Ltd., a continuing education company for Pilates practitioners in the UK.  Elizabeth became involved with the Pilates industry through her work in organizing international conferences in the dance medicine world, primarily for the International Association for Dance Medicine & Science (IADMS) as well as for Dance UK. She promoted the work of the PMA in the UK starting in 2004 and was voted onto the PMA’s Board of Directors in November 2006.  Prior to her work in Pilates, Elizabeth spent over twenty-five years as a performing arts producer and manager in London and New York City. She is an avid dance-goer, real estate investor, and traveller.

   
  Ray Infante
Certification, Manager
 

Before joining the PMA in January 2009, Ray served as Administrator at an established school of Massage Therapy in Miami. As Administrator, he wrote the school’s self-study report, which allowed for the school’s initial accreditation; he maintained the school’s license with the State of Florida’s vocational school authorities; and he engaged graduates in the requisite documentation for both third party certification and licensing by the Florida Department of Health. As Certifying Agency Manager of the PMA Certification Program, Ray orchestrated the initial accreditation of the program, and continues to work with the Executive Director and Certification Commission in the maintenance of the program’s accreditation, continued growth, and development within the larger fitness industry. He works closely with the PMA’s Summit Development Committee in the development of minimum educational standards for comprehensive teacher training programs and the evolution of an approval process for schools. In 2015, Ray was awarded the Institute for Credentialing Excellence’s 2015 Credentialing Industry Leadership award. In February 2016, Ray earned a certificate as Credentialing Specialist from the Institute of Credentialing Excellence (ICE). Ray Holds an MA in Liberal Studies from Barry University, Miami Shores, and a BA in English from Florida International University. In his free time, he enjoys working out regularly and spending time with close friends and his adopted canine daughters, Mia and Penelope.   

 

 

  Lorilee Levy
Professional Association, Manager

Lorilee joined the Pilates Method Alliance in January 2016. Her main function is to manage the professional association and help drive its Initiatives. Lorilee grew up in Miami, FL and holds a BA in Psychology from Florida International University. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, and their dog, Max, and her favorite past-times include boating, traveling, and making jewelry.
   
  Anna Alvarez 
Continuing Education Specialist
 

Anna has been committed to the PMA mission since its inception! Her main function is to work with PMA-Certified Pilates Teachers, helping them become CEC providers. In addition, she contributes to the Teacher Training Summit that provides a forum for delegates to deliberate over issues critical to the future of Pilates education. A busy mother of 3, she also owns her own Pilates studio, and is a PMA Certified Pilates Teacher herself. 

   
  Lolo Arrieta  
Communication Coordinator
 

Lolo joined the PMA in 2011. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist and is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Lolo currently handles the PMA Facebook page and all video/ communication related functions for the PMA. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.

   
  Tanya Nieto-Winzey
Conference Coordinator
 

Tanya works very hard behind the scenes to put together a world class conference. She manages our on-line conference registration and posts presenter information and agenda as they become available. A Pilates teacher herself, she trained with Core Dynamics. She is mom to 4 boys.

   
  Maly De Jesus
Sponsorship & Exhibits Coordinator
 

Maly joined the PMA in 2009 as Membership Administrator with a background in customer service. She speaks fluent Spanish and currently handles membership inquiries as well as sponsorship and exhibiting opportunites for the PMA conference. In her spare time, Maly loves to spend time with her husband and two sons.

   
 

Orianne Tairum
Pilates School Approval Program Manager 

Orianne joined the PMA in January 2017. Her main function is to manage the Pilates School Approval Program. Her responsibilities include reviewing applications, identifying deficiencies within applications, developing systems to support the smooth function of the program and communicating with applicants. Orianne grew up in Switzerland. She is fluent in French and English. She holds a BA in English, History and Archeology, an MA in English literature and History, and an MA of advanced studies in secondary and higher educational pedagogy. Before moving to the United States in 2016, she was a high school teacher. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing, doing Pilates and yoga, traveling and reading.

   
  Leonor Silva

Controller

Leonor joined the Pilates Method Alliance in 2017. She grew up in Ecuador and moved to Miami in 2001 where she earned her masters degree in Finance (MFF) from Florida International University. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her husband and three kids. Leonor manages the finances for the PMA Professional Association and the PMA Certification Program.

   
  Marcia Polas 
Newsletter Editor
 

Marcia joined the PMA as our freelance editor in August of 2009. She works closely with Elizabeth Anderson to develop content, work with contributors, and author articles when needed for The Hundred! In 2004 she left her 14-year marketing/communications career to teach Pilates full-time. Her work with the PMA allows her to use skills and knowledge from both her previous and current careers. Calling herself an Occupational Pilates Teacher and Movement Analyst, Marcia brings the principles of Pilates and self-MFR work to people with extremely physically rigorous jobs. She teaches workshops worldwide to Bartenders, Chefs, Baristas, Actors, Singers, Dancers, Musicians, Hairstylists, Nurses, and even Yoga and Pilates teachers, retraining them in how they use their bodies on the job. Marcia shares the work with anyone who will listen “…because it shouldn’t hurt to do your job.” Author of the audio fairytale series How Piper Became the Petite Pilates Princess and How Piper the Petite Pilates Princess Learned About Courage.

   
  Melinda Wunder, Certified Meeting Planner
Conference Planner
 

Melinda Wunder, CMP, founder and president of Creative Conventions & Events, a graduate of UCLA, has been planning meetings & events for over 31 years.  Her experience includes some 94 national and international conventions, 800 one-day seminars, 12 international video-conferences, 35 trade shows, and over 450 events.  Ms. Wunder has received the “Certified Meeting Professional” designation by the Convention Liaison Council on the recommendation of its Certified Meeting Professional Board.  She has served on numerous panels and given workshops for Meeting Professionals International on varied topics such as menu planning, hotel negotiations, and ethics in meeting planning.
