Programming Pilates for Youth
June 25 - 27, 2014; Fee: $99
This course has been created by the PMA’s Pilates 4 Youth Committee to facilitate the growing interest in, and need for, teaching materials and safety guidelines for working with the children and adolescents of our communities. This course was a great success in Miami in 2013. Join us for the west coast edition!
By participating in this course attendees will:
- Learn how to work with specific age groups and why each group needs to be worked in specific ways
- Understand how to work with the youth population safely
- Learn how to develop a program in a number of different settings (school, studio, youth center)
- Experience what it is like to be a participant in a "youth" class
- Practice teaching a sample class
- Develop sample lesson plans
- Earn 12 PMA CECs
The PMA’s new book,Pilates for Children and Adolescents; Manual of Guidelines and Curriculum, which complements the coursework, will be available at the event for an additional cost of $49.95, and the course will be delivered by the book’s authors!
