Helpful Notes for PMA^® Certified Pilates Teachers (PMA^®-CPTs):

1) Certification Renewal Reminders for PMA-CPTs

Please make note of the following:

• CASTLE Worldwide, Inc. will email PMA-CPTs certification renewal reminder notices 6 months, 3 months and 1 month prior to expiration. Please make sure that CASTLE has the correct email address for this purpose. If you need to update your email address or confirm they have the correct email address for you, write to them at pma@castleworldwide.com
• CASTLE will also mail PMA-CPTs a paper certification renewal reminder to the home address on file 6 months prior to expiration.
• The PMA strongly recommends that PMA-CPTs make a note of their certification renewal deadlines and certification expiration date in their own personal calendars.
• It is the PMA-CPT's responsibility to renew their certification. If you do not hear from CASTLE at the appropriate time, it may be because your contact details are out of date. Make sure you contact them to arrange for the renewal of your certification.

2) Certification Renewal Requirements for PMA-CPTs

The PMA requires all PMA-CPTs to earn 16 (above entry level) CECs every 2 years in order to maintain their PMA certified status.

• • All 16 CECs may be earned by taking PMA approved workshops. 
  • Up to 6 CECs may be earned through PMA approved online or DVD workshops.
  • 3 CECs may be earned by taking or renewing a CPR course. Find a class at www.americanheart.org/cpr.
  • Up to 10 CECs may be earned through petitioning. (See No. 3 below)

3) Petitioning for CEC credits

If there is a course you would like to attend that is not PMA approved, and you would like to get PMA CECs for it, you should review the Petition Application to determine if it would qualify for approval. If you decide to petition for the credits, we strongly recommend that you gather the necessary documentation for the application before you take the course.
