Pilates Deconstructed™: Toolbox For Your Reformer Classes - CALIFORNIA
Saturday, July 9, 2016 - All Day
Mission Viejo, CA

Date of Workshop: Saturday, July 9, 2016 - All Day
Presenter(s): Trina Altman
Title of Workshop: Pilates Deconstructed™: Toolbox For Your Reformer Classes
Workshop Description: Master teachers know that conveying concepts - not just repertoire - in a group reformer class is what truly sets them apart from the novice instructors. Concepts keep clients coming back for more. In this workshop, you'll learn how to sequence reformer classes by teaching preparatory movement skills that are a microcosm of more complicated exercises. In this day-long intensive, you'll learn where and when in a class to add, stir, chop, and mix: building blocks for the "peak" exercise, demos for visual learners, opportunities for palpating the teacher during a demo, and the A-HA learning lightbulb moments they crave. You'll go home with template handouts detailing the exercises from each one-hour class so you can teach them to your students. More importantly, you'll acquire the analytical skills to acknowledge the beauty in the "bits and pieces" of any and all complex movement patterns while deepening your understanding of the body.

Presenter(s): Trina Altman, PMA-CPT, ERYT
Title of Workshop: Pilates Deconstructed™: Toolbox For Your Reformer Classes

In this day-long intensive, you'll learn where and when in a class to add, stir, chop, and mix: -building blocks for the "peak" exercise -demos for visual learners -opportunities for palpating the teacher during a demo -the A-HA learning lightbulb moments they crave You'll go home with template handouts detailing the exercises from each one-hour class so you can teach them to your students. More importantly, you'll acquire the analytical skills to acknowledge the beauty in the "bits and pieces" of any and all complex movement patterns while deepening your understanding of the body. 7 PMA CECs earned upon completion

White River Junction, Vermont

Date of Workshop: August 6th and 7th

Presenter(s): Wendy LeBlanc-Arbuckle

Title of Workshop: Journey to the Advanced Pilates Mat Work...and Advanced Thinking for a Vital Life

Workshop Description: PLEASE JOIN US in this inspiring, challenging and playful workshop as we “de-mystify” the Advanced Pilates Mat Work through your direct experience of how your body’s crystalline fascial matrix can release long held “muscular tension” patterns…enabling you to discover NEW approaches to the most challenging movements! We now know that this network of fascia is not just an organ of support…it is “Spatial Medicine” as it plays a key role in how we organize our biointelligent bodies for movement, adapt to everyday mental and physical stress, and is a storage center for all of the acupuncture meridians which acts like an electrical grid that connects us to our emotions. In this workshop, you will: • Experience how your crystalline fascial matrix supports your muscles and bones in movement, so the most difficult movements become “effort with ease” • Discover how your fascia and breath’s “elastic recoil” works with your back’s “lumbodorsal fascial support” to create whole body internal strength, flexibility and ease • Discover how “yielding” to gravity as a partner awakens your natural uplift, and releases tension in your neck, jaw, shoulders, back, hips and joints • Experience a playful approach to the Advanced Pilates Mat Work… through re-setting your nervous system’s primal connections…creating deeper understanding of the Basic to Intermediate Pilates movements. • Discover a fluid, fascial approach to moving and/or teaching that influences how you relate to others and move in life!

SEPARATE BUT CONNECTED: TRAINING SELECTIVE CONTROL OF THE HIPS, PELVIS, AND LOW BACK (A Movement Science Made Simple Workshop) - COLORADO
Saturday, September 17, 2016 - Sunday, September 18, 2016
Denver, CO

Date of Workshop: Saturday September 17th and Sunday September 18th, 2016
Presenter(s): Cara Reeser and Jeremy Laverdure
Title of Workshop: SEPARATE BUT CONNECTED: TRAINING SELECTIVE CONTROL OF THE HIPS, PELVIS, AND LOW BACK (A Movement Science Made Simple Workshop)
Workshop Description: Freedom and stability in the trunk depend on freedom and stability in the hips. In this course, we will use the model of lumbo-pelvi-femoral rhythm as a means of organizing the legs, pelvis, and low back in whole body movements. This model integrates and improves upon both static models of lumbar stabilization (neutral pelvis/spine) and the Classical Pilates view of spinal mobility (“one vertebra at a time”). As teachers, our tools are demonstration, touch, and language. To be effective teachers our demonstration must be fully embodied, our touch supportive, and our language direct or poetic as needed. Movement Science Made Simple joins current concepts in anatomy, kinesiology, and motor learning with time-tested movement training strategies, giving workshop participants new skills to work with diverse client populations. BODY HARMONICS Core Integrity - CALIFORNIA
Thursday, October 6, 2016 - Friday, October 7, 2016
Oakland, CA

Date of Workshop: OCT 6th and 7th, 2016 - 12-6pm
Presenter(s): Holly Wallis, PMA-CPT
Title of Workshop: BODY HARMONICS Core Integrity - CALIFORNIA
Workshop Description: "CORE" is a popular (yet misunderstood) buzz word in any fitness environment. Yet, we know a strong core is the key to optimal function, balance and equilibrium. The question remains: how can we best facilitate effective core control, and still create programs that appeal to average people who can't connect to subtle movements and deep inner muscles? In this course, we take a global approach to the concept of CORE and analyze both the inner and outer cylinders of support. These "core systems" help produce support and movement for the entire body as they bend and spiral the torso. In-depth analysis is reinforced through observation and self-practice using specific exercises for each layer. You leave with a clear plan of how to create optimal core function and support with your clients. There are two easy ways to save: 1) Save 10% when you register for 2 or more courses together. OR 2) Save 10% when you refer a friend who registers for the same course. Visit www.reactivemovement.com/Teacher-Training for the current course calendar and to register.
