Calling New Board & Committee Members

The PMA is looking for potential candidates to join our Board of Directors and various Committees. Do you have the skills to contribute, or connections to those who could help our organization grow, and a desire to be involved with this young, dynamic organization? Perhaps you know someone you'd like to nominate?

The PMA Board is a group of enthusiastic, forward-looking Pilates professionals, working together to help and nurture the industry we all love. We are committed professionals who volunteer our time and energy for the strategic planning and management of the PMA. Generally, the route to board membership is committee work, where we can have firsthand experience with your talents and productivity, and your abilities as a team player. If you'd like to get involved, send your CV to trentm@pilatesmethodalliance.org If you have submitted your CV in the past and are still interested in being considered, please let us know so that we may consider you again, and give us any relevant updates to your CV.

We are specifically in need of Board members with a background in information technology & social media, fundraising/development/grant writing as well as those who have experience in strategic board development and long range planning. If you know someone appropriate who is outside the Pilates industry, please point them our way. We hope to hear from you as the fall 2009 election of new Board members is coming up soon!

New Voting Procedures

I wanted also to announce that we will implement a new voting procedure this year with regard to our election. Instead of voting for a 'slate' of candidates, we will propose more candidates than the seats available. PMA members will then cast votes for their preferred candidates. This change comes in response to PMA member feedback and we trust that our membership will be happier with this process.
